As Sam, Dean, and Ruby helped a fallen angel, Anna, track down her grace, they were caught in the middle of a battle between angels and demons. Uriel and Castiel had orders to kill Anna while Alastair wanted her for his own purposes. A battle ensued while Sam, Dean, and Ruby watched. When Anna retrieved her grace from Uriel, the angels and the demons disappeared into a brilliant white light, leaving Sam, Dean, and Ruby dumbfounded.

As seals continue to break, leading up to Lucifer's rise, Sam and Dean are searching for the Colt, which has found a new owner. Meanwhile, Ruby and Sam are secretly training to build his psychic abilities.
